Disabled Black trans man trying to survive in TX
Donation protected
We are a small group of queer and trans disabled folks trying to raise money for someone in our community who has been through so much over the past year.
He is a disabled Black trans man living in Texas. He would like to remain anonymous for obvious reasons ( Texas). He moved there a while back too be closer to his partner's support system, leaving his own support system behind. His now ex partner disappeared a few weeks ago without paying their share of the bills. This is after an incredibly harrowing year that our friend has been struggling to make it through.
In the past year, he survived a house fire, had to relocate twice, underwent major surgery and months of rehab, has been navigating a chronic kidney illness, chronic pain, and major mental health condition. All this while surviving as Black and trans in Texas. He has handled all of this with so much more resilience and strength than a single person should have to have. And through it all, he has maintained an incredible amount of commission and care for his community, working full time at a nonprofit serving other queer and trans folks.
He was recently hospitalized due to a flare up of his kidney condition, and returned from the hospital to an eviction notice. Now, he needs our help to remain in his home and pray his bills while he recovers.
Please donate what you can and share this in your networks!
