Disabled adapted car replacement for polio affected friend

I have set up this account for Charles Khaula a Malawian national, as he cannot do this himself (GoFundMe does not allow accounts to be set up from Malawi).

I have known Charles for over 30 years as he was a work colleague when did VSO in Malawi in 1989 – 91. We have managed to keep in touch over the years and I have supported him whenever possible.

Charles had polio as child and is unable to walk without crutches and so very much depends on his car to get around from his rural village into town. Charles has worked all his life but is now retired and has no funds to replace his vehicle. He had it repaired last year (new gear box) but unfortunately is now beyond repair. He needs $4000.00 (£3002) to get a similar specially adapted car shipped over from Japan. I hope you can help Charles so that we can get him mobile again - he feels quite cut off and unable to help his family and friends.
