Hi all,
Thanks to everyone who has donated
to this page for and behalf of DPOL
Longford. It is much appreciated.
Last Friday I set off from Maynooth
with Ailish Smyth of DPOL/HSE.
We were actually slightly delayed by
train arriving to Maynooth:)
We set off for what was for me, a very
enjoyable cycle and weather was
much in our favour. Ailish was true
Co cyclist to have and day passed on
with many stories of Longford and its
people.
Ailish led the way brilliantly and we
arrived in Mullingar around midday
for short stop off.
Around 4pm and 5km short of keenagh
I encountered the dreaded puncture.
Ailish continued and met with her
colleague Tricia O Hara at Keenagh and onto Clondra.
I called in reinforcements and by time
I had walked to Keenagh village 45
mins later, a replacement bike was
produced by Denny Skelly of
kilashee, along with my dad.
Greatly appreciated and thanks to
Denny for the bike,I continued on my
last leg, it was difficult without the help of Ailish and Tricia for this stage
but delighted to meet them all in
Clondra hour later.
The evening still bright and many
members of DPOL there, delighted us
all crossing the line for the cause.
Hopefully more events for future like
this. If you would still like to donate
please do as the go fund me page will
be still active for another week or by
dropping into DPOL office.
Thanks to all.
