My name is Mary Le Blanc, and I am a disability advocate and mother of a teen with emotional disabilities. I have dedicated my life to confront the many barriers that keep people with disabilities from stability and opportunity. But today, my child and I are facing an emergency of our own.
Last week, my grandmother passed away, and just days later we received a 7-day notice to quit from our landlord. We’re already behind on rent and utilities, and I’m doing everything I can to keep us safe while continuing my advocacy work, amid a pending Maine Human Rights Commission case regarding failure to provide accommodations in my education, as well as anticipating a trial where I will be representing myself appealing our unlawful eviction. My goals are to address these systemic failures head on, and I need help to keep up the fight toward justice.

Why I’m Asking for Help
I’ve exhausted every available resource — SSD, food stamps, and emergency programs — yet the bills keep growing faster than assistance can reach us. I’m relentlessly fighting for educational justice beyond myself and my child’s right to remain in their school district, but without stable housing we can’t keep pushing for change. We will become homeless again.
I had to max out my credit cards so we could survive, and am working to close them out, but we’ve reached the point where I need community help again. I know many are struggling right now — rising costs, benefit cuts, and the uncertainty of funding resources are affecting families nationwide. Your support means survival and solidarity, not charity.
Thank you for your support in all ways, shapes, and forms. If all you can do is share along, amazing! If you have a few bucks to spare, please know that every cent will be put to good use!
Teamwork makes the teamwork.. help me help you!
Much love to all ❤️
