Help Dirty Girl CSA get to Market
Donation protected

My name is Kirsten Anderson. I am a small scale vegetable farmer who grows a wide variety of vegetables for a small CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) and farmers markets. All of my produce is grown without the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and other toxic chemicals. It is my belief that the health of the soil is directly correlated to the health of the plants and therefore, the health of our bodies.
Dirty Girl CSA started in 2015 as a vision, rather than a large capital investment. This vision is continually in the process of creation. We quickly outgrew our land in Nashua and have since then relocated so that we may continue to grow more food for our community. We are in need of a reliable road warrior to take us to and from markets three times a week. A market van will allow us to transport larger quantities of fresh, naturally grown vegetables to the cities of Nashua and Concord, NH.
In order to purchase such a vehicle, we need to raise funds. The most mutually beneficial way to do this is to purchase a CSA share. You can do so by visiting www.dirtygirlcsa.com -- Your money will go directly towards the purchase of a van and other early operating costs such as seeds, greenhouse expenses, tools, etc. In return, you will receive weekly access to the bounty of our harvest. However, there are many people within our social network that cannot join our CSA for a variety of reasons. For those people, we have set up a GoFundMe to help us raise money before market season starts. (May/June)
In honor of National Womens Day, according to Worldwatch Institute, “Women farmers produce more than half of the food grown in the world- and roughly 1.6 billion women depend on agriculture for their livelihoods but receive only about 5% of agriculture extension services and own about 2% of land worldwide.”
It is our philosophy that everybody should have access to healthy, nutrient dense food that has been grown locally and sustainably. It is our intention to donate the left over produce from markets to the local soup kitchen and the NH food bank. It is a honor and a pleasure to be a young woman farmer for my community.
It is with your help and support that we can continue to grow a bountiful supply of beautiful vegetables for our communities here in New Hampshire.
Thank you for your donation!!
Peas and love,
Kirsten
