Dirty 20 Nerd Bar was created to be a safe haven for people who love nerdy things. Whether it is Dungeons & Dragons, board games, anime, or just a quieter place to exist, we wanted to build a space where people could feel comfortable, welcome, and themselves.

Over the past year and a half, that idea has become a real community. Dirty 20 has grown into a place where people from all walks of life can come for a drink, a game, or both. A place where there is no pressure to rush out, no need to fit a mold, and no judgment for how you choose to enjoy your time.

The restaurant industry has been brutal, especially in St. Louis. In 2025 alone, dozens of local restaurants closed their doors. We fought every day to make sure Dirty 20 was not one of them. Last year pushed us to our limits, especially toward the end of the year when sales dropped lower than usual, though not the lowest we had ever seen.

But December and January have been the opposite. Over the past month and a half, our sales have climbed significantly compared to this time last year. We are seeing momentum again. New faces, returning regulars, fuller nights. For the first time in a long time, we can genuinely see a path forward.

Unfortunately, a hard year leaves real damage behind. Even with improving sales, we are struggling to keep up with the weight of what 2025 did to us. That is why we are asking for help.

Funds raised will go directly toward keeping our doors open. This includes utilities to keep the lights on, paying our vendors so we can continue serving our guests, and paying our staff who have stood by us and deserve stability and respect.

I will continue to fight for this place and this community. This fundraiser is not about giving up. It is about getting the support needed to bridge the gap and allow Dirty 20 to survive long enough to fully stand on the momentum we are finally seeing.
