It saddens us to announce the untimely death of Dirk Kisiel who passed away on Friday, August 14th due to complications with pneumonia (not COVID related) at the young age of 58. His wife Katie and their daughters Payton (19), Skylar (17), & Riley (14) were all able to see Dirk and say their goodbyes before he passed. This was sudden and unexpected leaving Katie and the girls to pick up the pieces and try to make sense of what their future will look like without him.
Dirk loved his family above anything else. Yes, he liked to drive his boat in the ocean, he enjoyed watching sports, he liked rap music and was quite a good dancer, and he enjoyed sharing a beer with friends, but what Dirk really enjoyed was being home with his family, doing a puzzle, hanging with the dogs, or barbecuing. He loved coffee or ice cream runs with his girls or swimming in the pool. Dirk was raised by a single mother and saw the meaning of hard work. Anyone who knew him would agree that Dirk was a hard worker who wanted to provide for his family. His life was cut too short to fulfill that dream of sending his girls to college and to be able to provide for Katie and their future. Since Dirk was self-employed and the main provider of the household, we are trying to raise money for Katie, a school teacher, and her children to help with funeral costs, daily expenses, and the children’s college fund.
The outpouring of love already for Katie and the girls has been incredible to witness. So many people have been asking how they can help so if you would like to donate, click on the donate button and donate whatever you can, even the smallest of donations help. If you’re not able to donate don’t forget you can leave a message for Katie and the kids to read.
A small outdoor service is being arranged at St. Mel’s Church with plans to scatter his ashes at sea at a later date per Dirk’s wishes. Dirk will be missed but never forgotten.
