Colombia has been hit hard, and Pereira is not the only place suffering. Families across different cities, towns, and small communities are dealing with damaged homes, lost belongings, closed roads, limited supplies, and the fear that comes every time the ground moves again. Some people have somewhere safe to sleep. Many do not. Some are receiving help quickly, while others are still waiting and trying to figure out what they are going to eat, where they are going to stay, and how they are going to rebuild what took them years to create. I know there are good foundations, organizations, churches, businesses, and everyday people already stepping up. I respect every person putting in real work right now. I am not creating this fundraiser to compete with anybody or act like I can fix everything. I am doing it because Colombia is home to me. Pereira is where I come from, my family is there, and my people have deep ties throughout the communities that were affected. We know these families personally. We know the neighborhoods. We know the people who are being overlooked, the elderly who cannot easily leave, the mothers trying to care for babies, and the families who lost the basic things they depended on every day. This gives me a direct line to what people actually need right now. I do not have to guess from the United States or send random items hoping they reach the right hands. My family and trusted people on the ground can tell me who needs help, what they need, where they are, and how to reach them. The money raised will go straight toward verified needs and directly into the communities where help is needed most. Right now, families need clean drinking water, food, hygiene products, soap, toothpaste, toilet paper, feminine products, diapers, baby formula, wipes, clothing, shoes, blankets, mattresses, pillows, towels, tarps, tents, flashlights, batteries, portable chargers, cooking supplies, and safe places to sleep. Some families need transportation away from unsafe buildings. Others need temporary lodging, replacement documents, phone service so they can contact relatives, and help replacing medicine or medical necessities through the proper local providers. As the immediate crisis passes, people will need cleaning supplies, tools, building materials, help repairing damaged homes, and support replacing the basic belongings they lost. Whenever possible, we will purchase supplies in Colombia. That allows us to move faster, avoid international shipping delays, support local stores, and respond to what families need at that exact moment. My family and trusted community contacts will help identify needs, purchase supplies, organize deliveries, and place assistance directly into the hands of the people who need it. Our initial goal is $50,000, but this fundraiser will stay open because the need will not disappear after a few days. The first money raised will go toward water, food, hygiene supplies, infant needs, bedding, temporary shelter, and transportation. As more support comes in, we will help families with temporary housing, essential household items, repairs, rebuilding, and other verified recovery needs. I take the responsibility of handling other people’s money seriously. I will post regular updates showing what was received, what was purchased, where the assistance went, and how much remains. Receipts and expenses will be documented. Reasonable costs required to transport and distribute supplies will also be recorded. I will not post people at their lowest moment for attention. Any pictures or videos shared will be handled with respect and permission. This is direct community assistance organized by me, not through a registered nonprofit, so contributions may not be tax deductible. I want to be completely honest about that from the beginning. What I can promise is that the help will not get lost moving through unnecessary hands. I have family there. I have direct ties there. I know people who are already inside these communities, and we will make sure the support reaches real families with real needs. If you can donate, thank you. If you cannot donate, share this with someone who can. Every dollar, every share, and every person willing to stand with Colombia matters right now. This is bigger than one city. This is about helping our people survive what happened, get back on their feet, and know they have not been forgotten.
