Update March 20, 2025 ---

Thank you so much to those who have donated thus far to this campaign. Your generosity is incredibly appreciated, and the family has been able to receive funding so far to buy necessities like clothing and diapers.

On March 18, Israel launched a surprise attack on Gaza, ending the ceasefire agreement that had been reached in January 2025. Aseel, Ali, and baby Naya had moved back to their home in northern Gaza from the refugee camp where they had been living following the ceasefire announcement. The bombing left the family with minor injuries, and destroyed their home. Your support is needed more than ever. Thank you for your consideration.

My name is Hazel, from the USA, and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Aseel Abu Odeh, her husband Ali, and her baby, Naya, who are living in southern Gaza after being displaced from their home. I met this family through my involvement in fundraising efforts for people affected by the ongoing war and humanitarian crisis. As GoFundMe requires a western bank account, Aseel has asked me to set up this fundraiser and facilitate the collection and transfer of funds to her account in Gaza. Please read their story below to learn how your donation, however small, can make a difference for this family, and please share this fundraiser far and wide. Thanks so much for your consideration.

Hello, my name is Aseel Abu Odeh. I am 22 years old and married to Ali Al-Saadi. I was newly pregnant, in my second month, when the war forced us to flee to southern Gaza to escape death, along with my husband and my unborn child. I suffered from malnutrition because my baby needed healthy, vitamin-rich food. I often fainted and had to go to the hospital to receive IV fluids.
We were displaced six times, moving from place to place in search of safety, but nowhere was safe. On 12/5/24 I gave birth to my baby girl, Naya. She weighed only 2 kilograms due to ongoing starvation and now suffers from severe malnutrition. I gave birth to her in a tent that offered no protection from the freezing temperatures. Naya couldn't endure the harsh cold and developed intestinal adhesions caused by malnutrition.
Even the most basic necessities for Naya, such as diapers, milk, and clothing are unavailable. Naya does not know what safety means or what it feels like to have a home. She was born into a world of war, bombings, displacement, destruction, fear, bitter cold, and starvation.

My husband, Ali, who is 27 years old, is now unemployed and unable to meet our needs due to the skyrocketing prices. We also suffer from contaminated water and the spread of diseases. Our tent cannot protect us from the rain - when it rains, we are soaked, and Naya cannot endure this way of life.
Please save us and save baby Naya, whose childhood has been stolen by war. Even a donation of $5 could make a significant difference to us. Please help us before it's too late.
