My story
"HAIR - IT IS THE CROWN YOU NEVER TAKE OFF"
On Monday 6th of April, I'm taking off my crown. I'm shaving my head to raise money for mental health charity YoungMinds.

The current unprecedented situation of Covid-19 is affecting all of us in more ways than one. Many of us may find ourselves struggling with Mental health issues. Lockdown is having shocking effects on mental wellness of nearly everyone. Children are equally affected by isolation resulting from school closures, bearing in mind not every child is old enough to understand why they can't go to school or why they can't have a play date with friends. Some adults are juggling working from home + home schooling, some facing loss of income and some fighting a Superhero fight in the frontline. Mental Health charities have a big fight ahead of them and they're doing a great job by providing the much needed support already.
YoungMind is a fantastic charity. They’re leading the fight for a future where all young minds are supported and empowered, whatever the challenges. They make sure children and young people gets the best possible mental health support and have the resilience to overcome life’s difficulties.

Being a single parent and Diah being the only child, we often find ourselves walking on the edge, and hence, I feel this is important time for me to play my part and do something to help YoungMinds. Given the lockdown situation, there are no adventures that I usually challenge myself for. However, I think this is one of the most difficult challenges I've ever taken on. I'm going to have to live with this for next year or two (that's right - on an average it takes 18ish months for the hair to grow to shoulder length!)
With your support, I'm aiming to raise as much as possible for YoundMinds. Please donate generously - no amount is too small and every penny would help.
Thank you :)
