Join Me in the Dip for Dementia – Supporting a Cause Close to My Heart
On February 2nd, my friends, family, and I will be taking part in the Dip for Dementia event to raise funds and awareness for this cruel disease. As many of you know, my mum was diagnosed with dementia in 2016, and after eight years of caring for her as she slowly faded away, we lost her on November 30th, 2023. It was one of the most heartbreaking experiences of my life.
In memory of my mum and all those affected by dementia, I’ve decided to take part in this challenge as a way to help raise vital funds for research, support services, and awareness. Every penny raised will go toward making a difference in the lives of those living with dementia and their families.
Your support means the world to me, and together, we can help make a lasting impact on the fight against dementia. Thank you for your generosity and for being a part of this meaningful cause.
In 2016, my life changed forever when my mother was diagnosed with dementia. That day was one of the hardest I’ve ever faced. I remember her going through cognitive tests and struggling to pass them, and feeling powerless as the doctor was rude and dismissive. My mum was a strong, vibrant woman, and it was devastating to watch her slowly slip away.
As her condition worsened over the years, I made the decision to keep her at home, providing her with the love and care she deserved. It was an incredibly difficult journey, but I did everything I could to make her as comfortable as possible.
After eight long years of seeing her deteriorate, my mum passed away on November 30, 2023. Losing her was heartbreaking, and it has left a void that words can’t describe. But in her memory, I am determined to make a difference for others facing the same challenge.
Dementia is a cruel and devastating disease, and I want to help raise awareness and support for those affected by it. This charity is very close to my heart, and your generous donations will help fund research, support families, and improve the lives of those battling dementia.
Thank you for supporting this cause that means so much to me.
