Hey guys, my name is Rylee and if you know me you’ll definitely know my Dior ♥️ Recently Dior became very sick with what first appeared to be a simple ear infection. Unfortunately, it has escalated into something much more serious. The infection has spread into her middle ear and is now dangerously close to her brain. Because of this, she has developed facial paralysis (unable to blink her eye, move her right ear, chew on that side or walk and hold her head straight) and severe vertigo that makes it difficult for her to walk or even stand without losing her balance.
Over the past weeks I have contacted and visited dozens of veterinary clinics with the help of your recommendations, trying to find answers and the best possible care for her. Every consultation has led to the same conclusion: Dior urgently needs a specialized surgical procedure to remove the infection from BOTH of her middle ears before it causes permanent neurological damage or worse.
Also.. Dior has also been diagnosed with Degenerative disc disease (DDD) this is a common, often genetic, condition in dogs where spinal cushions harden and lose elasticity, leading to ruptures or bulges that compress the spinal cord. She has several ruptures. Because she is not yet paralyzed they want me to keep her medicated and surgery is not YET needed.
This has been a very humbling experience absolutely draining myself financially and emotionally to get her the best help and unfortunately the antibiotics did work for a short period of time only but the ear infection is reoccurring and there’s no way to avoid this. Dior is in an extreme amount of pain and we really need your help
If you are able to donate, share this page, or keep Dior in your thoughts, it would mean more to me than I can ever express. Every bit of support helps bring her closer to getting the procedures and testing she urgently needs.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and for helping give Dior a chance to recover. ♥️
