Dion's Surgery Fund

Hi there, my name is Dion De La Cruz (he/him) & I'm looking to raise funds for my upcoming surgery to improve my mental & physical quality of life!

Here's a little bit about me for those curious (and I thank you for reading on): I am currently a high school science teacher, a grad student at UC Davis, & an advisor to my service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega. Because of everything I've put into these goals & relationships, I continued to juggle these responsibilities the past year while navigating the world as a young man for the first time. However, with the opportunity to have top surgery by one of the best teams in San Francisco, I am prioritizing my well-being & asking for any support my community can provide. Many have witnessed the results of my effort these past two years to walk in a body that simply reflects who I act as so effortlessly. And yet, I've always known these countless hours of gyming, dieting, & changing wardrobes would never bring me the level of comfort this procedure will, but my efforts have confirmed I have done all I can & am ready for the next step.

As a teacher & grad student, the cost of this procedure does not come easy, so all money raised will go towards alleviating the burden of my surgery bills. Any excess money raised will be donated to individuals like myself that need help paying for their medical expenses.

It may sound cliche, but a little really does go a long way when everyone does what they can. So if you can donate and/or share my story with others/through social media, it would truly mean so much to me. Thank you.
