Hi, my name is Ben and my goal is to inspire interest in the sciences by bringing accurate Dinosaur information directly to kids and their families here in the Bay Area California through interactive presentations and hands-on demonstrations using full-scale fossil replicas.

Children’s exposure to Dinosaurs today is mostly in the form of cartoons or puppets, and I believe that presenting factual information to our future generations will spark their imagination and foster critical thinking skills.

The program is titled, Dinosaurs: Adventures Through Time

I have been a passionate dinosaur enthusiast since I was a child, and have a certificate in Paleobiology from The University of Alberta. I truly enjoy sharing my extensive knowledge with kids and watching their faces light up as they discover the wonder of these magnificent creatures.

Here in the California Bay Area, the resources available to see and learn about dinosaurs are limited. There are no dedicated dinosaur museums, no dinosaur parks, and much of the information that is out there for kids is severely outdated.

The majority of these children have never seen a true representation of a dinosaur bone. They have never experienced the size and scale that some of these evolutionary marvels could achieve. More importantly, they have not had the chance to touch, feel, and interpret their own scale in comparison.

The vast majority of kids show an interest in dinosaurs at some point in their life. It has been proven that those who grow up with an obsession or even just an interest in paleontology develop:

• -a broader vocabulary at a younger age

• a greater sense of self-awareness and perspective

• a real interest in learning

• a larger-than-life imagination

All of which help develop comprehensive learning skills.

Why is this so important? The world today is dominated by screens and while it has its benefits, it is extremely difficult for kids to get a true sense of scale and perspective from that type of learning. You can look at a picture all day and never truly understand how large or small these amazing animals really were until you see it up close.

Kids need something to hold, something to compare themselves to, something to get passionate about, and something to help spark their imaginations.

And that’s where you can help.

You can help broaden the imaginations and knowledge of countless lives.

We can bring fossils and replicas with the latest up-to-date information, along with imaginative games and fun, to schools and families all over the Bay Area.

This has already been approved and encouraged by the California Department of Education and is already lined up to start at 12 schools in the peninsula. We just need the replicas and materials.

Replicas are expensive. Especially ones at full scale. There are millions of years to cover and I want to bring the museum direct to the source of interest.

And with modern tech moving so quickly, why not use that as well? As this program evolves I also plan to teach pre-history with interactive robotics, VR and holograms to spark interest in computer science and engineering.
