Serbian Dogs Rescue Fund

Seven dogs in Serbia are in desperate need of your help.

Their sanctuary has been sold out from under them. They have until May before they will be put back on the street or sent to a Municipal Shelter, which in Serbia is a death sentence. We have secured the help of a fantastic UK charity working in Serbia, Whispaws (charity ID 1202887) who are going to help us bring the dogs to the UK. However, we still need to raise the funds to secure their future.

This is Part One of our rescue mission. This fundraiser will cover their first 4 months board in kennels (starting April 31st) where they will get amazing care and begin being assessed for adoption in the UK, as well as covering the medical tests and everything they need to come to the UK, a process which takes roughly 4 months. Once they are ready to travel we will open a second fundraiser to fund their transport to the UK, where several already have foster homes waiting, but we need to take this one step at a time.

Is this an impossible task in such a short time frame? Probably. But we are going to try anyway.

These 7 dogs are depending on you. Keep reading to find out more about each dog!

...

Zuca - Male. 11 years old. Poor Zuca spent his puppyhood on a chain in someone's yard and the years since in the shelter. He is a sweet elderly boy who doesn't ask for much. He deserves a loving, warm home to spend his retirement.

Nera - Female. Estimated 10 years old. Nera has spent her entire life at the shelter, because of that she can be worried by new things and would need time and patience to adjust to a new home. But she is a sweet girl who like affectionate once you earn her trust and enjoys slow sniffy walks.

Sunny - Female. Estimated 4 years old. Sunny was originally part of a spay and release program but got adopted in Serbia, only for them to return her with days because she was hiding in a corner. Poor baby was only scared and needed calm, patience and empathy to adjust. Once she is settled, Sunny has a lovely, goofy, playful personality and loves to do zoomies! She would likely do best in a home with a calm resident dog to show her the ropes.

Koko - Female. Estimated 4 years old. Koko was found as a young pup getting attacked by other strays. She is described as a little queen with the sassiest bark! She loves going on walks and sniffing everything! She also loves shredding cardboard if you need help with the recycling!! She has a limp due to a past injury but we're told this doesn't affect her day to day life.

Beki - Male. Estimated 2 years. Beki is a high-energy boy who is very puppy like still in many ways with so much potential if we can just get him out of the shelter and into a good home. He is very smart and loves to be doing stuff with his people.

Simba - Male. 3 year. Simba came in as a puppy with his two sisters, they were all adopted but 2 years later Simba was returned. He is believed to be a dachshund mix. He is a very sweet boy and loves his walkies. He has some resource guarding issues so would be looking for an adult only, experienced home who can continue the training it's impossible to do with him in a crowded shelter environment.

Tina - Female. 5 years old. Tina was a street dog but was hit by a car and badly injured. She struggles in the shelter environment with so many other dogs around and would like to be an only dog. She loves human attention but doesn't want to share it!
