My name is Jack Stoner. I'm a writer/director producing a short film called Dinner at Mom's. This emotionally charged comedy follows Lynn and Kevin, a mother-son duo in pursuit of their true selves after the loss of their husband/father.

Lynn is a foul-mouthed, ex-housewife turned cocaine dealer who wants the best for her son but is lost without her beloved husband by her side. Kevin is a punk rocker who has given up on his dreams and moved on to less exciting ventures after the loss of his favorite music partner, his father. Together, the two battle grief on their path to making their deceased loved one proud and finding their best selves.

This story is an exploration of grief and how it can distract and overwhelm us, disabling us from finding the good in the hardest of times. Just because the brightest beacon of hope in our lives has moved on, doesn't mean the good they have brought into the world has been erased.

I will be producing this film alongside a hardworking team of Montana State University Film School students and alumni. Over the past several we have all been honing our craft and hope to put it on display for others to see. We are fundraising to bring this heartfelt comedy to life and share it with the world.
