It’s with heavy heart that I have to ask for help. This is Dinks, my Boykin Spaniel. He has been my best friend, companion and child for 9 years. He has fallen ill all of a sudden.

Three weeks ago my furry child was fine when I left to go to work. He has two bigger sisters that keep him company all day. When I returned from work I found him in pain. There was no sign of any scuffle so I assumed he hurt himself jumping around like he always did. He was still just like a puppy and very active. We called his Vet that has been with him from the beginning. She said sounds like little Arthritis so she put him on Rimadyl. This did not work so we took him in the next evening , they did the exam and took x-rays. They did show a little Arthritis in his left hip but it was not bad enough to be in as much pain as he was in. There was nothing dislocated, fractured so she thought maybe it was muscle paid. She then proscribed him Muscle relaxers but this too did not work. This has been a process of elimination. Then we started him on glucosamine along with Gabapentin with no signs of pain relief. I took him to get a 2nd opinion just for my peace of mind and was told that this is some kind of pinched nerve or disc issue. I was told I need to take him to a specialist. I was told this is very expensive and if they have to do surgery it could be over  $1000.00. When we got home from the 2nd opinion his sister was laying in the floor bleeding, we rushed her to the Vet and she was hemorrhaging we had to put her down two days before Christmas. My Vet is trying everything she can do to bring my baby back to me and running around. She started him on injections twice a week for 4 weeks, this is to help the Gabapentin release pressure if it is a nerve. There is nothing else to try but Antibiotics for something called Septic Arthritis. She starts him on those today but if this does not work I will be asked to make some very difficult decisions. My baby still is bright eyed and is eating and drinking normal. This is why with good conscience I cannot give up on him till we try the Specialist. This is where I need your help.  If anyone can donate to our cause it would be forever grateful. There is no amount that is too small. Please help get my baby boy back on his feet, he is my world.
