Hi, my name is Melissa Brown, and I'm raising money to help my sister, Dineen Thibeault, with the expenses related to her liver transplant.

Dineen (53 yo) has been a stay-at-home mother and wife for over 20 years. She has dedicated her life to her family and friends. In 2020 she lost her beloved 20-year-old son, Raymond, twin to her other son, Remy. It has been a challenging time for our whole family. In 2021 her husband filed for divorce after 24 years of marriage, and in June of this year, Dineen was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis and needs a liver transplant.

It has been a devastating few years for Dineen, and now she is facing a very challenging health crisis. With the divorce and her illness, she is struggling financially and needs to leave the house she has lived in for over 20 years because her in-laws own it, and they want her and Remy out so they can rent it to someone else since she can no longer afford it since the separation. She can not work and can not get disability because she hasn't worked in so many years.

Dineen has been hospitalized over six times since June for life-threatening complications. This is taking a toll in every way possible. The transplant is a matter of life or death, and the medical expenses are staggering.

I am trying to relocate her and Remy to North Carolina, where I live, and get her into the Duke Liver Transplant Program. She will have a better chance of a transplant at Duke than at Mass General. This process is logistically and financially tricky due to her condition and situation.

I have started this GoFundMe to help Dineen with her relocation, medical bills and living expenses while undergoing the transplant process, which we all pray is a life-saving journey. Those that know Dineen know that she is much more comfortable being a person that helps others. She prefers to remain quietly behind the scenes. Dineen has kept her health challenges very private, so if you are a friend, please understand that if this is the first time you have heard about this part of Dineen’s life, you are not alone. She doesn't want others to worry but needs your prayers, hope and support. Dineen has impacted many lives immensely as a daughter, sister, mother and friend, and now is the perfect opportunity for us to support her. I can't imagine this life without her in it, and I don't want my nephew, Remy, to have another devastating loss in his life.
