On Monday, January 1, Dina went to the ER with severe back pain. By Wednesday, she was given the diagnosis of Stage 4 Breast Cancer that had metastasized to her spine, ribs, and liver. On Friday, January 5th, they performed spinal surgery to implant rods to support 7 of her vertebrae, remove the largest tumor, and take tissue samples. She is recovering from the surgery and rebuilding her strength to start the next leg of her journey, beating cancer.
