Dina Nesterenko: Unique Solo Violin Arrangements
Dina Nesterenko is a unique virtuoso violinist, originally from Russia. She made the semi-finals of the famed Tchaikovsky Violin Competition at 17 years old, and then emigrated to the USA to pursue her education, where she attended the Curtis Institute, and Juilliard School of Music for her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, also receiving a doctorate from Stony Brook University.
She has developed a passion for creating extraordinary solo violin arrangements of complex orchestral works, similar to the types of violinistic feats of Paganini and the other great violinists of the 19th century, whose solo recitals were filled with their special arrangements of popular opera arias of the day. For Dina, this might be a virtuoso arrangement of a full symphony by Beethoven for a single solo violin, or the pop song “I’m a Barbie Girl” in the style of JS Bach!
She is now ready to create her first professional album of these arrangements and bring it out to the world. Donations to this project will pay for recording, video and production costs. It is my honor to be working with her as producer and audio engineer on this project.
These arrangements are meant to enrich the history of violin playing, and as a donor, you will be helping bring her unique voice and personality to a wider audience.
