Amalphia Needs A Second Chance
Donation protected

This is Amalphia, she was just rescued from a very lonely and sad situation in Thermal. Amalphia (affectionately called "Phia") was gravely neglected, alone, underfed and stuck in a dangerous chainlinked dog-run in 110 deggree weather with no cover from the scorching sun. Despite being injured, malnurished and completely alone without any animal friends, she is incredibly sweet and gentle- however tentative and shy. With a little help and a cash bribe to the people who had her, she now has a second chance for a life of love and care.
After being purchased by us, she was trailered away by our veterinary doctor. Phia is currently at Dr. Clark's clinic getting all her medical needs addressed (Thank you Humane Society!). Once she is vaccinated and healthy enough, she will leave the vet and be taken to a nearby ranch where she will finally have horse friends to be near! In adittion to the TLC Phia is going to be pampered with from her new human friends, she will also be put on a workout program to help her regain strength and health while we figure out a forever home for her. Everyone involved in her rescue is eager to see her heal and become a thriving, happy horse.
When we arrived to get her out of her sad dwelling, Phia gave the biggest high pitched nicker when she saw the carrots we brought her. She just needs some good 'ol fashion love and attention to restore her to her best self! Please help us to care for her in the meantime while we rehabilitate her. The Humane Society has been generous enough to pay for her veterinary bills. We need help to keep her boarded at Rancho Polo in Thermal. Her board is $225 a month for a nice pasture stall with lots of grass for her to graze on. Any bit helps; thank you in advance for your support to this beautiful young mare who deserves the best! Our goal is to give her a purpose and we hope to turn her into a wonderful horse for a lucky child to ride and spoil Phia with love and affection.
(Precise age of Phia is unkown, but we believe she is about 5-6 years old).
*Special thanks to my husband Darren for helping me get Amalphia. Thank you as well to Jennifer Hamilton, Dr. James Clark and his assistant Javier who were all there to rescue Phia. Incredibly grateful to Melinda Bustos and the Humane Society of the Desert for their generosity regarding Phia's medical treatment.
