The Glendale DImonds made it to the 2017 Global competition (May 24-27) for Destination Imagination (DI)!!! This is the first year that Glendale Elementary competed in this competition, and amazingly this innovative and artistic young team was able to achieve a second place finish in the state tournament and secure a global tournament bid.
DI is a non-profit, volunteer-led organization that offers a competitive team based forum for students K-12. Challenges revolve around creativity, arts, and STEM based learnings. The DImonds competed in the elementary level of the Show & Tech challenge. Challenged to create a two part script (offering a moral or learning), a way to move a team member point to point, scenery, and two special effects, the 16+ weeks they spent working together offered a great deal of learnings and growth for all involved.
Now for the request.... The cost of entering the DI event is significant, and we appreciate any financial contributions you can offer to help offset the cost. The money raised will go to the entry fee for our five team members, representing four families, and our awesome leader/co-manager/DI alum, Mrs. Rucker.
