Dillingham Spotlight Presents: Antigone Now!!

All Dillingham Spotlight productions are fully fun by students. They are also fully funded by students. This can become incredbly financially difficult. As part of this program there is no ticketing cost for any of the productions that are put on. Please consider donating to help support the students who are making this happen. All proceeds are put towards the current and future shows produced through Dilligham Spotlight. About Dillingham Spotlight

Dillingham Spotlight is a new production program at Ithaca College focused on supporting students in developing and staging their own small-scale theatrical productions in Ithaca College's Earl McCarroll Black Box Theatre. Dillingham Spotlight is currently in its third season and is producing 2 shows this spring.

About Antigone Now

As part of this season Dillingham Spotlight is producing Antigone Now by Melissa Cooper which is opening April 25th. The show is being directed by Ithaca College Student MJ Jacobs ('27) they are also producing the show with Are Stein ('27).

Antigone Now is a modern retelling of Sophocles' classic Antigone. The show tells the story of Antigone who is living in the fallout of her city after a great war. Antigone's Uncle Creon is now ruling the city and has outlawed the burial of Antigone's Brother Polyneices who faught again Creon in the war. Antigone defies this law and buries her brother, Creon who is desprate to keep hold over the city punishes Antigone to death due to her actions. Antigone Now is a heartbreaking story of how overbearing power seeks to destroy love.

The donation you make will go directly toward covering the cost of materials used in this production of Antigone Now. Any funds that are not used will be transferred to future Dillingham Spotlight productions.
