Help Dilan Ripp Heal from Spine Surgery Setbacks

Donation protected
Hello, friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my brother, Dilan Ripp and his family. He recently suffered an injury followed by an emergency during surgery that has left him unable to work his full time job. Last summer Dilan started experiencing numbness and pain in his neck, head and right arm. He had been doctoring and going to therapy while waiting for an MRI. Unfortunately, in November, while waiting to get in, he fainted due to this issue. He hit his head ending up with a separated left shoulder, tearing his tendons and further damaging the right side. This left him unable to work and in constant pain and with debilitating health issues. With the new injury in addition to the original concern it was decided Dilan needed spinal disc arthroplasty. They would remove a few discs and do an implant going in through the front of his neck. On February 27th, Dilan went in for his cervical spine surgery and unfortunately “things didn't go as expected”. After they had started the surgery they had to abort the procedure as Dilan’s heart stopped beating. The medical team did CPR and they were successful in bringing Dilan back. The surgery is rescheduled for March 25th. This means he will be out of work and on restrictions for another 2 months. The goal is to regain his strength and quality of life to be able to play and rough house with his 3 year old twins Asher and Conway. And, for him and Arielle to get back fishing and camping!
As many of you know Dilan not only worked his full time job but would always be ready to help at any farm that could use his help. He was an avid softball player and his family was just starting to build their little farmette up. Normally my family is the one there for others, helping set up benefits and fundraisers for others facing challenges. But, in this difficult time, we are asking for your help to support them so he can focus on healing and recovering without the added stress of worrying about the financial strain they face.
Due to this injury and the unexpected surgery emergency, Dilan is unable to work and is facing financial hardships after being out of his job for 5 months and looking at another 2 months of rehabilitation. The funds raised will go to medical bills and daily living expenses like housing, utilities and groceries.
A meal train is also set up for assistance around his surgery date: https://mealtrain.com/rlk7kd
Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to us. Thank you so much for your thoughts, prayers and generosity in support of Dilan, Arielle, Asher and Conway!
Thanks,
Marissa Ripp-Schmitt
