Our Global Health Systems cohort at Western University has seen firsthand how fragile life can become when families are forced from their homes. In Kikuube’s IDP camps, we met mothers who hadn’t eaten a full meal in days and children drinking salt water to fill their bellies. There is no health centre within reach, and without reliable food or clean water, malnutrition and disease have taken a devastating toll on over 110 displaced households.

Determined to make a difference, we’ve partnered with Think Humanity to deliver 5–10 kg food packs—rice, posho, and beans—to each family. At just 60,000 UGX per pack, these staples will provide much‑needed nourishment and restore a measure of dignity to parents who worry daily about their children’s next meal. Our goal is to raise 5.4 million UGX by July 1, ensuring that every family receives this essential support.
