Our father, Hayward McFadden, has been a source of strength, wisdom, and love for our family and community for many years. Now, he needs us.
Hayward has been diagnosed with Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. While in a previous care facility, he suffered severe neglect. He was left in bed for days at a time without proper medication, hygiene, or repositioning. As a result, he developed severe Stage 3 pressure sores on his calves and feet—causing him immense pain and putting him at risk for serious infection.
He is now in a new facility where he is finally receiving the compassionate, specialized care he needs. However, his recovery will take time, including round-the-clock medical supervision and ongoing wound care.
Unfortunately, the cost of this level of care exceeds what his pension and Social Security can cover. As a family, we are doing everything we can—but we cannot do it alone.
We are asking for your help to ensure Hayward can remain in a safe, supportive environment and never return to the conditions that caused him harm.
Our goal is to cover one year of essential care:
• $850/month – Facility fees & medications
• $250/month – Medical supplies (PureWick catheter)
• $150/month – Nutritional support (Ensure drinks)
Total: $15,000
Every dollar raised will go directly toward his care, comfort, and healing.
If you’re able to donate, we are deeply grateful. If not, sharing this with your network means just as much.
Thank you for helping us give our father and grandfather the dignity, safety, and care he deserves in this chapter of his life.
With love,
The McFadden Family
