My name is D'Juan Hopewell and for several years I've been working on a book about Rev. A.D. King. My research led me to the A.D. King Foundation and the work that the late Naomi King did to preserve the legacy of her husband. Dr. Babs Onabanjo, the Foundation's CEO, took years to interview primary sources. At present, well over 300 hours of tape-- which has never been seen --is just waiting to be preserved for future generations. This is a unique opportunity to preserve history for future generations. Overwhelmingly, the interviewees are deceased. We lose their testimony if we don't act now. Rev. B.J. Johnson-- whom A.D. King spoke to late into the night before he was found murdered, Andy Young, Otis Moss Jr., Dick Gregory, Naomi King, Senator Georgia Davis Powers, Rev. C.T. Vivian, and so many others gave first hand accounts about the life and work of A.D. King. We must preserve this history at all costs. Note that I am also working on a documentary on A.D. King. All funds in excess of what is needed to digitize and restore these tapes will be applied to that project but only after the primary goal is met. Thank you for your help in preserving a priceless treasure-- our history.
