The unexpected passing of Dustin Wagstaff due to COVID has left many of us heartbroken. It’s clear to see that both he and his family have had a powerful and positive influence with many people, as we have been overwhelmed by the number of kind people who have reached out to offer their condolences and help. We sincerely appreciate each one of you.
Andrea, Dustin’s loving wife, has been so strong during this difficult time, helping to arrange his funeral and coping with her own grief, as well as her children’s, which is more than anyone is ever prepared to do when their loved ones pass away so unexpectedly. Adding insurance companies, government agencies, banks, and the looming, unknown medical expenses have also added to her stress and grief, but she has matched each challenge with grace.
As she has started to look at what her young family’s life will look like in the future, the rest of us have settled on trying to figure out the best way to help her to share our love and support. We all know how much Dustin loved his family, as well as his home improvement projects. He’d started so many projects around that house that it currently looks like a construction zone, rather than the masterpiece he wanted to build for his family’s future. We want to help Andrea finish the projects that Dustin started to complete their home together, the type of home that Dustin would have wanted his family to have.
While we know many of you are willing to donate your time and talents, we believe that the easiest, least stressful, and safest way to move forward is for the family to work with a general contractor to get things completed in a professional and timely way. Any donations that Andrea receives through this GoFundMe will be used to finish the projects Dustin started to remodel their home. We believe this will give Andrea the much-needed opportunity to focus on taking care of her children and herself during their grief.
