Diggy’s fight

I wish I could put into words how much the amount of support, compassion and generosity that has been shown to Diggy & his family means to us. Because we were getting close to the original goal quickly I decided to increase it because the expenses are already piling up. I don’t want them to have to worry about anything other than helping Diggy heal. From the bottom of my heart thank you all.*

Hi, my name is Marissa. I am hoping to help relieve some financial stress for my family while my cousin Derek Lockhart is recovering in the hospital.

Right now the update I can share is that Diggy is already a freaking miracle and is fighting like hell to heal. He is still sedated/on a ventilator but has been making small steps in the right direction & has an amazing team of doctors who know how strong he is and are doing everything they can to help him heal. I really truly believe in the power of prayer so plz don’t stop praying for his strength to keep fighting & get through so he can give his Mom the hug she’s been waiting way too long for.

He is only 24 years old, his life is just getting started. He overcame so many obstacles during high school and college & just finished his college football career at IUP. He literally JUST got his college diploma in the mail last week!!!! He has the biggest heart & loves nothing in the world more than his Mom & his dogs He has an amazing girlfriend & just started his 1st job out of college with Amazon and was loving it. This wasn’t supposed to happen!!

We’ve had TONS of people reaching out asking how he’s doing, how they can help, & if anyone is collecting donations to help the family. Right now Diggy’s Mom Amy her fiancé Wayne, his brother Payton & his grandparents are spending the majority of their time at the hospital by his side and will be for the foreseeable future. It is going to be a LONG road. Any money donated will go directly to Diggy’s Mom Amy to help towards hospital bills, missing work, food, parking, etc. I know everyone is struggling right now. times are tough for all of us, but this is going to add up fast. right now aside from continuing to pray every single day, this is the only thing that we can all come together to do to help them. I’ve seen our community come together before to help families in need and right now one of our own really needs us.

Tonight Amy said this is by far the hardest thing she’s ever endured. She has been by Diggy’s side every waking moment and has been so strong for him. I honestly don’t know how she’s doing it but thank God that she has Wayne Payton & the rest of her family with her every step of the way. Please don’t stop praying
