HELP SUPPORT GINA DUNCAN.
Just when she thought the hardest chapter of her life was behind her, another one began.
It was just 7 short years ago when Gina began the fight of her life against appendiceal cancer. Even though the odds were stacked against her she pushed through and continues to redefine what’s possible.

On March 12th, 2026, Gina suffered a devastating hemorrhagic stroke. In an instant, her world shifted and she found herself facing another fight.

Her deficits were immediate and heartbreaking, leaving her with significant left sided paralysis. Her ability to move freely was taken from her, along with her mobility and independence.

In the days following her stroke, she was given continuous hypertonic solutions to reduce elevated intracranial pressure and brain swelling. While this treatment was critically important, it caused a fluid build up in her lungs. The extra fluid impacted the pressure in her brain prompting the need for a craniectomy.

Even in her most vulnerable moments—her head shaved, her independence gone, and needing assistance with every aspect of daily living—Gina never lost her spicy personality. She's never failed to entertain us with her witty humor bringing laughter into a situation that felt so heavy. She quickly became a favorite among her nurses and staff who cared for her.

After 15 days in the hospital, on March 27th, she was transferred to a renown rehabilitation facility in Grand Rapids. Mary Free Bed is known for its exceptional care, tailored programs and outcomes that often exceed national averages. NOTHING BUT THE BEST FOR MY GINA!!!

Her strength is undeniable. She’s determined to heal, regain her strength and keep moving forward.

As she begins this long and challenging road to recovery, we are asking for help to ease the financial burden that comes with it - medical care, therapy, and the many unknowns ahead.

She has dedicated nearly 30 years in the medical field helping and supporting her patients, coworkers and physicians who count on her. Now we are hoping to surround her with that same support.

If you are not in a position to donate, sharing this page and keeping her in your thoughts and prayers means just as much. Every bit of support reminds her that she's not facing this fight alone.
