DIFFERENCE - A Short Film by Dagmar Bennett

Donation protected
Please support Dagmar Bennett, an upcoming Welsh Creative Director, on her latest project highlighting rare diseases, questioning stereotypes and celebrating differences. More info about the concept here:

We live in a time when hate crime, racism and existing inequalities are on the
rise whilst simultaneously, the next generation care for an equal world. This
film aims to explore and celebrate one of the most unique British characters.

Adam Pearson has a genetic condition called Neurofibromatosis. As a public figure, he questions the status quo and drives change forward in how society perceives disfigurement, disability and race.

Adam will look beautiful and unique, blending the lines between documentary and fashion. His mood will be strong, beautiful and defiant, embracing his fashion looks. The cast will be portrayed as icons that we celebrate. The styling will be a mix of day to day high end british fashion and culturally inspired garments whilst using a few fashion props symbolising the current British society.

The location was the biggest prefab estate in the UK and was built post World
War 2 to re-hose Londoners after the bombings. A symbol of unity and community contrasting with the environment we live in today.

The juxtaposition of cast, styling, props and location will highlight and question -
What will we have left to celebrate if there is a society full of hate and division?
What does beauty mean without difference?

The deadline for funding is Sunday October 9th!

Any donation amount will be greatly appreciated, no matter how small. £100 donations or more will be invited to the private view in Soho House, London. Therefore please do leave your name and contact details when you fund.
