Diesel’s Healing Journey

Monday morning our sweet fur baby was hit by a car. He has since been in the vet hospital with a collapsed lung and some internal bleeding. We tried to avoid surgery through blood transfusions and clotting medications. The first night he appeared to take well to the transfusions but by morning time his belly was pooling up with blood again. It was at this point the Dr.’s needed to take him into surgery to see where the bleeding was comming from and pray it wasn’t comming from any vital organs. After opening him up,it was what we prayed for, it was his spleen and all the vital organs are intact and undamaged❤️ THANK YOU LORD but with that being said, they also found a foreign object in his stomach that wouldn’t have been able to pass safely in his poop so they needed to also cut open his stomach to remove it The removal of that went smoothly, but with that surgery especially, like with most comes a chance of major infection. At this point Diesel is stable and showing signs of of improvement but he has a long healing journey ahead of him with continued medications and check ups. So far his vet bill has cost us $11,000 in our desperate attempts to keep our fur baby alive so he can live out his years at home, cuddling with his humans like he was meant and loves to do. Any help towards Diesel’s care and continued recovery would help alleviate the stress for us, so we can continue to give him the best care possible and help pay for the life saving measures we have already provided him with.
