Dear family and friends,

As some of you may know, Diego was diagnosed with Leukemia on March 20th, 2021. Together as a family, we have created this page to support Diego and his family thru this really difficult time. We would like to share some of his story, current situation, and diagnosis.

On March 19, 2021, Lily (Diego's mother) took Diego who is 13 years old for a check-up since he was running a fever and had body pain. On the morning of March 20, at 1:30 am she received a call from his pediatrician urging her and his father to take Diego to the emergency room, his blood results reflected some sort of abnormality that was severe. A few days later after many exams, Diego was diagnosed with Leukemia (AML). Since his diagnosis, he has had chemotherapy and other surgical procedures. Diego has some good days and some really bad days since his chemotherapy is really aggressive. He is a real warrior who is grateful for the help he is receiving, for his family, and fights every day to have a smile on his face regardless of his physical pain. He is a believer of GOD and has faith that he will come out victorious from this fight.

Due to this life-changing situation, his family's finances took a toll. Lily's income is no longer available since she has to stay with him 24/7, his insurance will only cover a percentage of his treatment and the medical bills are starting to arrive, besides their basic bills. The help received throughout this page will be to alleviate some of the debt all this situation is and will continue to cause. Doctors are hoping for Diego to be in the hospital for 6 months, receiving chemotherapy and future surgical examinations.

Querida familia y amigos,

Como algunos de ustedes saben, Diego fue diagnosticado con Leucemia el 20 de marzo de este año. Juntos como familia hemos creado esta pagina para apoyar a su familia durante este duro momento. Queremos compartirles un poco de su historia, situacion actual y diagnostico.

El 19 de Marzo del 2021, Lili (mama de Diego) llevo a Diego de 13 años a un chequeo medico ya que tenia fiebre y dolor de cuerpo. En la madrugada del 20 de Marzo, a la 1:30am recibio una llamada de la pediatra instando a ella y a su papa que llevaran a Diego de emergencia al hospital ya que los resultados de sangre mostraron una abnormalidad severa. Despues de muchos examenes, Diego fue diagnosticado con Leucemia (LMA). Desde su diagnostico, el a recibido quimioterapia y otros procedimientos quirurgicos. Diego tiene unos dias buenos y otros muy malos ya que su quimioterapia es muy agresiva. El es un guerrero que esta agradecido por la ayuda que esta recibiendo, por su familia y lucha todos los dias por tener una sonrisa en su rostro apesar de su dolor fisico. El es un creyente de Dios y tiene Fe que saldra victorioso de esta batalla.

Debido a este cambio de vida, las finanzas de la familia se han visto seriamente afectadas. El ingreso de Lili ya no esta disponible ya que se tiene que quedar con Diego 24/7, su seguro medico solo cubrira un porcentaje del tratamiento y los recibos de gastos medicos empiezan a llegar, aparte de los gastos basicos. La ayuda obtendida por este medio sera para aliviar parte de la deuda que esta situacion esta y continuara causando. Los medicos esperan que Diego este en el hospital por 6 meses continuando sus quimioterapias y examenes quirurgicos.
