I am typing this with my heart shattered in pieces.

On the morning of August 13th I received a video call from my mother.. I answered excitingly as I did any other Saturday waiting to hear her ask “what are you guys doing today?” which without fail meant we were spending the day together. I quickly realized this was not that phone call, this was the phone call that would change our lives forever. My mothers face said it all, I had seen this same face before when my grandfather passed away just last year. Between her running tears and agonizing cries she told me my brother Diego had passed away. 

My brother Diego had the most beautiful soul. He was kind hearted, joyful and optimistic! He was charismatic, when you were around him, you were laughing hard! His laugh was so contagious. If you knew him personally, you know he gave the best hugs! He’d tower over you and make you feel so loved. He was a gentle giant. Truly an angel!!! 

Nothing prepares you for a loss like this. We are devastated and we miss him so much.  We want to thank everyone who has reached out to our family. We are amazed at the amount of outpouring love and support. You are so loved Diego!
