As many of you know my families homes were devastated in the flood in Levasy, Mo on June 1st 2019. The picture above is my parents farm that they have called home for the last 38 years. The flood of 93 was bad but never made it into my parents home. This flood they were not so lucky. My parents are both retired and living on a fixed income so I took it upon myself to create this go fund me because I know my parents would never ask for help even in a time of need. Anyone who’s ever met my family would be the first ones to tell you they would give you the shirt off there back in a time of need. I’ve had several people contact me asking how they can help and I appreciate the words from each and every one of you. If you’re able to donate that would be great if not I understand and maybe you would consider donating time when the cleanup effort time comes. I would also like to add that not only does my mother have the stress of this flood on her shoulders but also the stress of the city of Independence city council is pushing to eliminate health insurance for retirees of the city. My mother spend nearly 43 years of her life working for the city and was promised health insurance benefits just for them to be ripped away. So I also asked that you call the mayors office and voice your opinion on how wrong this is. As far as the money I raise here I’d like to use it for general necessities for my family while they stay with other family members and whatever is left over to be put back into all the work that will need to be done on there houses before they can be Calle home again.
