Logline: DIE TRYING is about a young woman with Cystic Fibrosis trying to survive COVID-19. Immuno-compromised, Terese leads a safe, quarantined lifestyle, but when her irresponsible roommate suddenly returns, both Terese’s patience and health are put to the test.

We are launching this campaign to raise additional funds and bring our budget to $35k for the feature film DIE TRYING, written & directed by me, Julianne Fox! This is a personal story for me, watch the above video to hear more about it. COVID has hit hard, and we’re trying to make the best of it. In addition to raising representation for chronic illness, this is a great opportunity to provide jobs in this crazy time.
Filming is set to begin in early November and the film will be finished at the beginning of 2021, and will hopefully go to film festivals in an effort to attain distribution. We are in pre-production now, and our budget will shift as the pieces come into place. With the nature of our micro budget filmmaking, we also need to be flexible as costs come up, but here is a rough breakdown of our ideal budget of $35k:
Camera - $3000
Grip Equipment - $3000
Set Design & Locations - $10,000 (we are hoping to build the set for added safety)
Sound - $3000
Food - $2000
Insurance - $2000
Actor & Crew Fees - $8,000
Miscellaneous - $1000
Contingency - $3000
We also want to acknowledge there are many other deserving causes in this time, and will be donating a portion of our funds raised to The Los Angeles Mission to assist the unhoused populations which have been particularly hit by COVID. If we reach $5K, we’ll donate 5% of our proceeds. If we reach our goal of $10k (or beyond), we'll donate 10% of our proceeds.

Truly manifesting a figment of my imagination here, but if someone were to make this a reality you could forget that "Co-" and be credited as a full fledged Executive Producer! Shooting up the ranks of the Hollywood elite, you'd be sharing a credit with some of the true titans of this industry (AKA the kind folks at Wayfarer and post-production house Company3).
