Maui Fire Fund for Lahaina Captain & Crew

Aloha kākou.

Hi everyone my name is Lori Koyama Fuzzyʻs wife. I have been taking care of all the behind the scene things for the business for the past several years.

Fuzzy is the only Lahaina-born local boy in the Lahaina harbor that owns and operates a charter fishing business. Over the past few decades, he has established a reputation for fishing that is befitting of our business name Die Hard Sportfishing. He has established a clientele that are repeat customers year after year and through word of mouth.

As you may have heard a wildfire tore through our beloved town of Lahaina. There is mass devastation and many casualties. We are still in disbelief at the sheer devastation and loss of life that has occurred to our hometown.

We sit in a daze trying to make sense of what happened and trying to wrap our heads around how we can even recover.

Lahaina Harbor was completely destroyed. Along with the harbor, our boat Die Hard HowIFIsh and our business also went up in flames.

We have yet to be let into Lahaina town due to the hazardous conditions and due to the number of people that lost their lives and recovery is still taking place.

One week has passed since the fire and the reality of everything is that it will take a year or two before we can bounce back. We are starting this GoFund Me page to help get finances to the crew of the Die Hard. They are family and we would like to help them as much as we can. We have no income coming in nor will we for quite some time.

We humbly ask for any kokua that you are able to provide so that we can provide our crew with some relief. It is our hope that it will help them while they along with the rest of Lahaina figure out what they will do as we all try to rebuild.
