My friend Didi is a strong and resilient individual, known for her generous spirit and caring heart. She consistently offers her time and energy to help others, whether volunteering in the community or supporting friends through tough times.

Unfortunately, Didi is now facing the heartbreaking possibility of losing her home. Already navigating a challenging job market made worse by ongoing economic uncertainty, the devastating LA fires have added even more anxiety and instability to the region.

Despite her many challenges—including undergoing two major surgeries during the pandemic—Didi has persevered. She is still recovering and going to physical therapy while tirelessly searching for work every single day. However, with the recent fires impacting businesses and overwhelming resources, finding employment has become even more difficult.

Unfortunately, federal and state assistance programs have been backed up with applications and strapped or no further funding since the pandemic and are now stretched even thinner by the fires. This has left fewer options for immediate relief.

Didi understands times are tough for everyone, and asking for help is not easy for her. She has always been the one to offer support and care to those in need. Now, as her friend, I know she deserves the same compassion she has always shown others.
