Didi Arpaia has recently been diagnosed with bone cancer, after dealing with unknown sources of pain in multiple parts of her body for about a year. The cancer has eaten away a bone in her shoulder and a vertebrae in her back, which has caused her bones to become very fragile and prone to fracture. This has left a previously very active wife and mother now limited and careful in her physical activities. Didi and both sons have been training together at the Naples Academy of Martial Arts for six years. She continues her training in a modified capacity, with the support of everyone in her dojo family.

Her doctors have been unable to locate where this cancer originated but have begun treatments of tumors which have invaded her bones. She has just completed a round of 25 radiation treatments. She will soon need monthly treatments to strengthen her fragile bones, surgery to reinforce the vertebrae in her back, and physical therapy to regain range of motion in her shoulder. Didi faces an unknown future of radiation, chemotherapy, surgery or other treatments. In addition, she frequently needs to be monitored by doctors and undergo medical testing to determine the effectiveness of her first round of treatment and any future treatments.

Funds raised by this campaign will be used to cover expenses and supplement her income if she is unable to work.

Didi has a never ending positive attitude and has always helped others in need, whether they were family, friends, or just someone in the community requiring assistance.
