Logline
'Two estranged best friends reunite one night and put their differences aside for one mission - saving their cat!'
Director’s Note
For me, the most crucial thing in this movie is representing how much of a treasure close friendships are, especially female friendships. One of my biggest fears in life is losing those and as painful as it is, that’s where this movie originated from. Because Amy and Patti are two people who have had that treasure but somewhere along their walks of life, they’ve lost it.
These young women may be fictional, but I love them and feel for them with all my heart. Their dynamic is incredibly fun, absolutely moving and painfully real. They are the people they are, because of each other. As we watch the two young women come together once more in this comedy-drama, our characters find within themselves to appreciate each other once more, amidst the past pain. After-all, friendship is beautiful but sometimes it hurts, and that’s okay.
It’s a crazy world we live in, and we all have our baggage, but these ladies cope with theirs through sarcasm. The moment they set foot into each other’s orbits, there’s nostalgia and longing, but they’re too hurt and too proud to move past them. Yet, it’s a joy to see them risk being vulnerable and even growing up a little, to take back some of the magic they shared.
“Did you miss me?” is filled with colours, heart, magic and laughter. It’s whimsical the way life is after a big glass of wine you share with your best friend.
Film Summary
After a year of not speaking, Amy shows up unannounced in the middle of the night recruiting Patti for a mission to rescue her cat, ‘Mr. Cinnamon Puff’, from her ex-boyfriend Greg’s flat. They push each other’s buttons like no one else, but it becomes clear through this late-night adventure that Amy and Patty are like peanut butter and jelly - at first glance they are completely different but together they just make sense. Will they be able to move their differences and risk being vulnerable to be able to get their friendship and cat back though?

Tom Barlow - Director of Photography
Having grown up in the quiet countryside of Lincolnshire, Tom Barlow spent most of his youth escaping the ennui of daily life by turning to films. Quickly gaining a deep interest in films of all genres, nations and eras, he built up an extensive knowledge on the subject which he spent more time engaging with and studying than his school exams.
After finishing school, he officially started his studies in Film by doing a Bachelors in Cambridge. After graduating he moved to London where, in-between working multiple jobs, he would use his time off to volunteer/work on short films, theatre and social media ads in order to improve his experience.
While handling DOP work on his last short film, ‘Leave Me Alone’, he became acquainted with an incredibly talented crew of filmmakers who are now excited to reunite for their new film ‘Did You Miss Me?’.
Robin White - Camera Operator
Robin is the camera operator on Did You Miss Me? Ever since she first heard the pitch for this project, she knew it was something she wanted to be part of. It immediately stood out to her for its comedic yet deeply heartfelt exploration of female friendships. The film’s unique blend of retro and modern aesthetics is something Robin is especially excited to help develop through lighting and camera work.
With a background in theatre production, Robin is particularly drawn to character-driven projects that allow for a more creative approach to atmosphere, and this production offers exactly that opportunity. Robin is really looking forward to collaborating with such a passionate team and bringing Patti and Amy’s story to life!
Orla Jones - Sound
Orla’s passion has always been deep rooted in all things audio-visual and cinematic. Hailing from Brighton, UK - She appreciates the importance of community, connection and identity - and believes cinema is a powerful way in which we present the world and each other through the collective experience that it provides us.
She discovered her first passion for sound from music and film scores at a young age. She describes that it was the symphony of sounds from original music, soundtracks or world-building when watching films that she felt the most connected and emotionally affected by, and how this later has had a great influence on her and her life.
Paired with her academic grounding of Film & Screen Theory (BAHons, UAL), Orla is invested in exploring the way in which you can perceive sound in partnership with what the audience witnesses on screen by utilising and exploring atmosphere, texture and rhythm to create a distinct and unique world in which every film lives.
Through her involvements of film production, improvisation, screenwriting, theatre production and practical music, Orla provides a multi disciplinary approach to her work and feels she has found her talent when shaping, exploring and creating sound either experimentally or narratively.
Charlotte Archer - Editor
Charley is the editor for ‘Did You Miss Me?’, and she has worked as an editor on fiction and documentary film since 2020. Of the many projects she has contributed on, Charley was nominated at the 2024 Oxford Shorts film festival for Best Editing for the short film ‘Skelter’, and was credited as First Assistant Editor on ‘Breakwater’, the most-nominated film at the 2025 Raindance Film Festival. She is currently working on two documentary features in her spare time.
She has a huge passion for films which tackle social absurdities and interpersonal realism, and is excited to bring those sensibilities to the post-production and editing of this heartfelt comedy-drama.
