Dibs got Cancer - But we got Dibs!
Donation protected
Danika Worley, a.k.a "Dibs," has been a staple and friend to so many in our North Florida communities for many years. She became a mother at 16 years old and at 28 suffered a stroke, which left her with no vision at all on her right side due to damage to the optic nerve. She hides it well, you would never know unless she's told you.
However, Dibs is a fighter and continued to fight to live a normal life. Her optimism, sense of humor, and ever-present love for her friends and family have always set her apart and endeared her to all.
Recently, we received the news no one ever wants to receive - CANCER. Upon an initial doctor's appointment, scans discovered malignant tumors in her nasal cavity. Sinus surgery was the first step and has proven to cause much pain and a tough recovery.
Danika has worked at Chopper's Bar and Grille since before Covid 19 began. Earlier this year she was told by the doctors to leave the workforce. She will not be able to return until she recovers from her surgeries and radiation treatments. As of now, treatments are due to continue late into May, perhaps longer.
Our brave friend has a long road ahead of her. Radiation begins April 21, 2025, and we pray for her healing and recovery. But as she cannot work due to her illness, she needs our help! She will need help with medical expenses and living expenses as she navigates yet another battle. As our friend has always been there for us, it is time to circle our wagons and be there for Dibs!
