'DIARY OF A FOLKIE' - Watch our film, donate and help others

Hi, my name is Belinda and I am a folk musician. I usually tour the lands with my wife Heidi as O'Hooley & Tidow. Last February, I decided to do a solo tour so that Heidi could be a stay at home mum for a while, and I would become the family breadwinner for a bit. It was quite the tour, with so much time on my own, and so many situations to navigate... So, I filmed it as a way of making sense of life on the road for a folkie.

Heidi and I are excited to announce the premiere of our film: 'Diary of a Folkie' on Easter Monday 21st April at 9pm on our YouTube Channel. We would love for you to tune in and watch it with us.

The concert is free to watch and we hope you enjoy an up close look at what it's like to be a female, neurodivergent folk musician on tour.

Help Musicians is a charity for professional musicians of all genres, both in work and in retirement. They help at times of crisis, but also at times of opportunity, giving people the support they need at the crucial stages that could make or break their career. So many of our colleagues are struggling at the moment due to venues closing down, the financial crisis affecting ticket sales, and having to build careers back up after lockdown. There will be music, conversation, driving, concert halls and folk clubs, messy hotel rooms and sneaky peaks at dressing rooms, toilets and everything else, and of course, a lot of daftness thrown in too. Heidi will feature as well, plus a little bit of Flynn and our elderly cat Mr Googins.
