Synopsis: In this enticing, mostly autobiographical memoir, a German musician and music / film producer takes readers on a wild ride through three decades of chaos, creativity, and redemption.

Raised in a sheltered childhood, the author finds early success in the entertainment industry of the 1980s. But behind the scenes, alcohol and drug abuse spiral out of control, leading him down a destructive path that spans continents.

After leaving Germany in 1986, his journey becomes a whirlwind of highs and lows—moving from the vibrant streets of New York and Chicago to the tropical shores of Hawaii, the spiritual enclaves of Goa, and the exotic chaos of Phuket and Bali.

Along the way, there are moments of incredible creative success, producing music and films, only to be followed by episodes of criminal behavior, near-death experiences, and a relentless quest for escape.

The turning point comes with a four-year prison sentence at FCI Terminal Island in the U.S., a stark wake-up call that forces him to confront the life he’s been running from.

With the unwavering love and support of his wife, he finally begins to rebuild, facing his demons and emerging with a new perspective.

After exactly thirty years (in 2016), he returns to his hometown in Germany, forever changed by his odyssey, but finally at peace.

Diaries of a Daydreamer is a powerful testament to the resilience of the human spirit, a story of downfall and redemption, and a reminder that even in the darkest moments, hope can light the way home.

ABOUT ME:

I am an Independent Music, Film, and Theater Producer, Musician, Mixing/Mastering Engineer, and Multimedia Production Specialist with over forty years of experience in the entertainment and multimedia industries. Throughout my career, I’ve collaborated with a wide range of clients across both the entertainment industry and corporate sectors.

My expertise spans nearly five decades of work in documentary video, feature film and music production, audio recording and engineering, stage design, theatrical production, multimedia and graphic design, investigative journalism, and project management.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

1. General Info:

a. Diaries of a Daydreamer (English version) is complete, with 335 pages ready for final editorial checks and graphic design.

b. The German translation is 50% complete as of October 16, 2024.

c. A film adaptation is in the works but not part of this fundraiser.

d. A “Making Of…” documentary is already in progress, featuring interviews and behind-the-scenes video snippets from Germany, US Mainland, Hawaii and Indonesia.

e. Graphic design, sales, and marketing strategies are set, with multiple online platforms ready to support the launch (links available below).

2. Project Needs:

As an experienced music and video producer with professional editing skills and a background in graphic design and online marketing, I am personally handling many aspects of this project. However, external support is still necessary in the following areas:

a. Editorial Services: Final proofreading and editing for both the English and German versions of the book.

b. Translation Services: Assistance with completing the German translation. Although I am German, after 30 years of traveling, I need help to ensure fluency and accuracy.

c. Professional Voice-Over for Audiobook: Non-AI voice talent is needed to record the audiobook in both English and German to maintain authenticity and emotional depth.

d. Limited Print Edition: A limited printing of the softcover edition will be self-published, offering supporters an exclusive first edition of Diaries of a Daydreamer.

This special release will include even more personal insights, enhanced behind-the-scenes stories, additional artwork, a poetry section and my Cinematic Music Compilation CD MovieWorx, making it a unique collector’s item for early backers.

The funds will contribute to the production, printing, and distribution of this limited run.
