We are facing an incredibly difficult moment as my sister, **Dian Hounsell**, recently suffered a serious illness that has profoundly affected her health and independence. She is experiencing significant memory loss, muscle atrophy, and other complications that have left her unable to care for herself. Her recovery will be long and uncertain. She will require extensive physical rehabilitation, and we truly don’t know how much of her cognitive ability she may regain. While we hold onto hope, the path ahead is overwhelming.
Dian is 55 years old and uninsured, which makes securing the care she needs even more challenging. I will be traveling back and forth between Fort Worth and Arkansas to visit her, advocate for her treatment, and search for a safe placement once the hospital discharges her. Some of the proceeds from this fundraiser will go toward covering these travel expenses, which will add up quickly but are necessary to ensure she is not navigating this frightening time alone.
I want to be honest: Dian has not always made the best decisions in life, and those choices have sometimes made things harder for her. But moments like this remind us that every person—no matter their past—deserves compassion, dignity, and help in their time of need, just as Jesus would offer. Our hope is simply to give her the chance to heal, be cared for, and feel loved. Any contribution you can offer will help provide Dian with proper support, rehabilitation, and a chance at stability. Thank you for your generosity, your prayers, and your kindness toward my sister during this difficult season.
