Help Dianne Get to London for a Life-Saving Kidney Transplant
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my mom, Dianne—a loving mother, proud grandmother, and a true friend to so many.
Dianne has recently been placed on the urgent kidney transplant list, and everything is now time-sensitive. When a donor kidney becomes available, we may only have a very short window—sometimes just hours—to get her to London, Ontario for surgery.
This transplant is life-saving. There’s no way to predict when the call will come, so we have to be ready at any moment to drop everything and get her there safely and quickly.
She will be receiving care through the transplant program in London (University Hospital), which means traveling on very short notice and staying nearby for an unknown period of time. After surgery, she will need to remain close to the hospital for frequent follow-ups, monitoring, and testing to ensure her body accepts the new kidney.
While we’re doing everything we can to prepare, the financial strain is overwhelming. We are facing costs such as:
- Emergency travel to London at a moment’s notice (fuel, transportation, parking)
- Temporary accommodation near the hospital before and after surgery
- Meals and daily living expenses while away from home
- Medications and transplant-related costs not fully covered
- Time off work to support her through surgery and recovery
Dianne has always been someone who shows up for others without hesitation. Whether as a mother, grandmother, or friend, she has given so much love and support to the people around her. Now, she needs that same support as she faces one of the biggest moments of her life.
We are asking for help so that when the call comes, we can focus entirely on getting her to London and through this surgery—without the added stress of financial burden.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward helping Dianne get to her transplant and through recovery. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read Dianne’s story and for supporting her during this critical time. It truly means more than we can express.
With love and gratitude,
Lisa
