Donation protected
My best friend, Sami Kenney’s mom, Dianne Kenney, was recently diagnosed with stage four liver cancer. Initially, the cancer was found in the gallbladder. It then spread to the liver and surrounding area, according to the oncologist. As of the end of May, Dianne was given approximately 3-9 months to live. Unfortunately, the doctors could not provide a definite timeline for the family. With chemotherapy, Dianne’s lifespan could be extended up to a maximum of two years. The doctor's best estimate was around one year. She has yet to decide whether she wants to proceed with chemotherapy or not. Even without chemotherapy now, she has not been feeling well. She is accompanied by stomach pains, nausea, headaches, trouble eating and extreme fatigue. These symptoms would be significantly worsened with chemotherapy. Although Dianne has had several different emotions about her diagnosis, she is still trying to live her best life and make the most out of her time, despite the severe impact it has had on her and her family. Because of her condition, Dianne has been unable to work. As a result, the Kenney family has had a hard time coping. For example, costs of groceries, living expenses, gas money, comfort of living and prescriptions have become more of a prevalent issue. Based on the Kenney family’s current situation, donations would be put towards eventual funeral costs and burial, along with Dianne's current medical, financial and personal needs.
