Diann has had a long career as a world-class fine artist, as well as a superb  art teacher, having taught hundreds of art students in Canada and Alaska who have greatly enjoyed and benefited from her expert teaching of the techniques of the Old Masters. 

 However, 2020 changed all of that. It started with COVID-19, after which in September the mall which housed Diann’s classroom shut their doors and closed down. Diann's inspiration to paint took a strong nose-dive, and then as of 4 December 2020, a CT Scan revealed that Diann‘s husband Tom Swanson has lost a 2-year battle with prostate cancer, which had dramatically metastatized. Hospice care was his next step.

 Before Tom passes on, he is initiating this GoFundMe account in order to encourage and inspire Diann to carry on, and also to cover necessary funeral (and other) expenses and thus stay viable.

Diann's incentive to keep up her morale and continue painting needs a strong boost, our good friends.
