Diane Malanga is a mother, partner, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, and friend. Diane Malanga is also a warrior and tireless advocate for our Active Military, Veterans, and POW-MIAs. Diane Malanga could be any one of us. On August 6th, Diane was diagnosed with uterine cancer! She underwent surgery on August 14th and is now awaiting the results to see if her cancer spread or if it was caught early enough. The waiting is agony!
For all of you who know Diane, she is the first one to step up to help someone in need, to fight for the rights and benefits of our Active Military, Veterans, and POW-MIAs, and their families. Diane is probably one of the most selfless people that we've ever had the privilege of knowing often putting herself and her health behind the needs of everyone else.
Today, we are asking everyone who knows and loves Diane to support the woman who has done so much for everyone else. Today, we're asking you to dig deep and contribute to our efforts to raise money to help Diane and George with the medical bills and living expenses that they will soon be facing. Diane, like many, will have enormous out-of-pocket expenses that won't be covered by her health insurance not to mention the living expenses that will mount when she's not able to work at the same level that she did before her diagnosis. Diane is an independent contractor, so there isn't any short-term disability, unemployment, or FMLA for her. She's already been out of work for a few weeks and just found out that her client is terminating her as a contractor. According to him, she's been out for a month and didn't seem eager to come back. I guess that having cancer and major surgery isn't a good enough reason. Karma is a bitch and we hope that it comes back on him with a vengeance!
Diane is a proud woman and would never ask for a handout. She'd just as soon go without something for herself, but this is not the time for us to let her pride get in the way.
We know that times are tough for a lot of people, so anything you can spare is appreciated and will go directly to Diane to cover her medical and living expenses.
