On August 28th, Diane Baker turned 50......2 weeks later she had an unfortunate, life-changing accident.
If you haven't already heard the details, here is a summary of what happened:
During an afternoon bike ride with a friend, she stopped at a birthday party being held at the Green Gable. While there, she went to greet someone and the stool she was on teetered and fell over, knocking out her front 3 teeth and breaking her left ankle and right arm. These injuries required surgery, put her in the hospital for a week and required her to have round the clock care for months.
Even with the obvious physical probems she has had to endure, the most dire consequence is that the accident rendered her unable to work - a fact that as a self-employed hair stylist, has been disasterous financially.
As we all know, life goes on and whether we like it or not, bills don't stop just because we are unable to pay them. Diane has worked her butt off to get healed so she can get back to work but the lost wages and medical bills piling up the past three months are devastating.
Chances are that you know Diane and have probably been on the receiving end of her kindness and generousity. Today, she needs your help and is too proud to ask, so I am going to do it for her.
Please consider - especially this holiday season - even a small donation to help a friend in need. Every little donation helps - or, equally as helpful.....she is back at work part-time and taking appointments as she is physically able - contact her (or me if you don't have her information) if you would like to set up a haircut! If you are unable to provide any financial assistance at this time, please at least share this campaign to help us reach as many people as possible.
All money raised will go towards back and ongoing medical expenses.
Thanks in advance for any assistance you are able to provide.
