Help Wishes Come True for “The Soup Kitchen”
Spende geschützt
I have never in my life wondered where my next meal was coming from. I am blessed to say that I have never been truly hungry. “ The phrase, “I’m starving” was just a thoughtless phrase to explain that it was time to eat.
Food insufficiency is a true problem in our communities. With so much food being tossed away nobody should go hungry.
I have met with the Executive Director and the Head Chef at The Soup Kitchen of Boynton Beach to learn more about what their organization does. A funny and warm hearted man, Enrique Zuanetto, speaks of The Soup Kitchen with such pride. He boasts its success mainly from his amazing volunteers and his donor participants.
He graciously gave us (mike and myself) a tour and shared with us what they experience and how they operate. They feed approximately 400 people a day a full meal at no charge. And they accomplish all they do without any government assistance. Everything they do is achieved by donations. I was introduced to the Head Chef, Steve, who is responsible for expediting the preparation of not only daily meal service, but deliveries of Meals on Wheels, pantry supply, donation and the list goes on.
I am so impressed by the hard work and dedication displayed by The Soup Kitchen
And it’s volunteers. I asked Chef Steve what piece of equipment is on his wish list to make his job easier. He replied, “a buffalo chopper.” For those of you not familiar with this piece of kitchen equipment, It has similar functions of a food processor but on a larger commercial scale.
This is where we can all give a little and have a huge impact for people that give so much everyday! I am raising $1800 to purchase a used buffalo chopper to be gifted to The Soup Kitchen in Boynton Beach.
I know we can crush this goal quickly!!
